Taylor County Courthouse

Taylor County Courthouse in Iowa, built in 1893, was named after the 12th President of the United States, Zachary Taylor>

Built from Bedford limestone and pressed bricks, which are very porous and absorb water like a sponge, the courthouse suffered from a very humid environment due to the saturated condition of the bricks and limestone. Four RENODRY wall dehydrating units were installed. The courthouse staff have said the humidity is much lower and it smells better after 1 ½ years of drying out. Another national treasure has been saved from the ravishes of salts and water.
